Hallmark's Christmas Magic Review

Title: Christmas Magic
Media: DVD
Publisher: Hallmark
Genre: Romance/Drama/Humor
ISBN:883476120829
Length: 87 minutes
My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Carrie Bishop's life revolved around her work.  Nothing else mattered.  Then one fateful night, a car accident took her life.  But before she can officially move on and become an angel, she had one last job to do.  Her mission was to help a struggling restaurant to turn itself around in one week.  But as the week drew to a close, can Carrie keep her head and heart separate so she can earn her wings?

This was a movie that made you stop and think about life.  'Christmas Magic' was beautifully crafted that it will move you to tears.  The plot was slightly predictable for me (since I'm a romance book fiend) but for those who don't normally read romances, it should be refreshing and interesting.  You'll stick to the end just to see what would happen.  My only disappointment was the hero, Scott Walker (Paul McGillion).  Normally, I have the habit of falling in love with the hero by the end.  Not this time around.  He was just too awkward.  Then he had the smart idea to date Carrie's rival.  Really?  Now Carrie Bishop (Lindy Booth), I loved.  She was just a bundle of adorableness, sweetness, charm, and vulnerability.  Her reactions and feelings were done so well, that I actually shed a few tears.  But another character to look out for was Carrie's mentor, Henry (Derek McGrath).  Their scenes together were my favorite.  The lighting and atmosphere were perfect and ethereal.  The supporting cast was good.  The plot did move at a quicker pace due to time constraints, like the fact that they fell in love so fast.  But it worked.  There was a smidgen of humor, drama and it was a sweet, clean romance.

Perfect for the holiday season.  You will laugh, cry and be happy.  The only reason I didn't give this movie a 5 star rating was because I wouldn't be watching this one over and over again.  However, it now has a spot on my shelf.

Note: This is English language only.  NO subtitles.
