Playskool Stack n' Stow Cups Review

Title: Stack n' Stow Cups
Publisher: Playskool
My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

First, the packaging was really annoying to open.  There was tape on everything and I couldn’t pry open the box easily with just my bare hands.  I know that’s not a real negative but just wanted to state that it was not hassle-free packaging.
  1. My nephew loves the lion’s face.  When he sees that smiling face, it gets him really excited and grabs for it right away.  Unfortunately, it didn’t become a favorite.  He would give the toy attention for a few minutes and then tossed it aside.
  2. The design is pretty ingenious.  The tail hooks onto your purse or diaper strap with little difficulty.  Even hooks on to your jeans’ loops!  Leaving you hands-free.  It is a plus but can be negative too.  I have a hard time getting it off.  I have to use two hands and squish the strap/loop to get it to come off.
  3. It’s a great learning tool.  I sit with my nephew, pick one up and say the shape and color, and then give it to him to play with.  When he tosses it away, I pick up the next one for him.  The solid colors are really bright and strong but some are obscure color choices.  The shapes are cutouts in the center of the cup and again on the handle.  The cutouts made it easier for small hands to hold and are not too big that little hands get stuck.  (I do keep an eye just in case.)  The handle is textured and gives a little bit of grip.
  4. The size is travel perfect.  It is so compact.  When locked all together, it is about 6 x 2 x 5 inches and 8.5 ounces.  So, it’s not too bulky or heavy to weigh you down even more.
  5. Personally for me, putting the toy away was not a quick process.  You stow each cup into the other.  However, you have to make sure they fit into the groove of the previous cup or it won’t lock together properly.  Then locking the lion’s face into a place is pain.  I never manage to get it on the first try.  There are grooves that the face slips into and you have to twist the head until it drops in.  It’s not exactly obvious for me.  So, if you are in rush, putting this toy away can be annoying.
I like it.  It’s a good learning tool.  It’s convenient and not too heavy to carry around.  The price is somewhat decent for what you are getting.  But still, it didn’t keep the baby’s attention for long.  I will keep trying to use it to entertain him.  Overall, I grade this toy a B+/A-.

If you watch my video, thanks.  This is my first try at an edited video.  I apologize for the amateurish appearance.

Note: I received this ARC from the Amazon Vine program for an honest review.
