Playing with Fire Review

Title: Playing with Fire
Author: Laura Hardy
Line: Silhouette Romance
Publisher: Harlequin
ISBN: 067157101x
Website: http://www.harlequin.com
My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I have to say that this story had a slight “Pride & Prejudice” vibe.  I mean, in regards that their first impressions of each other pretty much influence the rest of the plot.  When Dinah first met Greg, she thought he was playboy that flirt with anything in a skirt and he only wants to sleep with her.  And Greg thought she was homewrecker that he needed to help.  However, *gasp* the truth was that they fell in love with each other at first sight and lack of communications brought upon their supposed dislike.  The plot was very simple and with just enough drama to keep you turning the pages.  I just wanted to see them outsmart each other as Greg tried to manipulate the situations.  It was rather entertaining how Greg kept getting played.  The ending was slightly anticlimactic by the way they resolve their issues but everything was nicely explained with a neat tidy bow.  The writing was good.  The characters were good.

Overall, I like it.  Will I read it again?  No.  That is why I gave it 4 stars.  But I do recommending giving this book a shot if you are looking for a quick, easy read.  It was good reading.

Note: This is a clean romance.
