Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Movie - Part 1

Title: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
More Information: http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/
Length:  146 minutes
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I have to give this movie props.  Why?  It condensed the most boring part of the book into 2 hours of entertaining and funny viewing.  The dialogue was witty and insightful.  Even if you haven't read the books, you can still get the gist of what's going on.  First, the acting here is amazing.  This movie franchise has been 10+ years in the making and it's wonderful to see these young actors and actresses grow up.  The acting is great and they pull off the comedic scenes with skill.  The movie jumps from scene to scene.  But each scene was interesting and shows of what is needed to carry on to the next one.  I haven't read the book since it first came out, so I'm not sure what they took out but there was a scene I didn't recall.  I won't spoil it for you but it was very, very sad.  Tears came to my eyes.  The visualization and special effects were done seamlessly.  The music however didn't stand out for me.  I don't think I even heard the main Harry Potter theme either.  O_o  Even if they did, it didn't stick out.

Even if you haven't read the books, this is a fun movie to watch.  I can't wait to see the last movie.  (It's like with Eclipse and New Moon.  I had to get through New Moon before Eclipse came out.)  So, it's a nice diversion.  It has humor, action and romance.  Go see it.  Oh, and why didn't I give it a full 5 stars?  When I love a movie, I have this burning urge to see it again right after I just seen it.  I didn't get that feeling.  It was good.  But not that good.
