As you can tell from my blog, I love reading romances and watching it second best.  So as I watched this with my friend, I can pretty tell in what the direction of the plot was going.  If you don't mind a predictable romance plot, this movie will be your cup of tea.

Christina Cox plays Hallie Galloway.  Hallie is a editor at Manhattan Line magazine and her ambition is to be senior editor and willing to do anything to get there.  On her way home one day, she runs into Eddie, a homeless con man, who was trying to cheat her assistance.  In the end, she cheated him and because of this, Eddie believes Hallie hexed his life.  Drunk, he went to her company to get her to pay him back.  Hallie wasn't sympathetic to his plight but the current senior editor made a bet with her.  If she could get Eddie ready for their Bachelor Auction charity event, she would get his job and he will pay the guy back or she has to quit.  Unwilling to back down from a challenge, she set out to makeover Eddie.  But as he changed, Hallie realized she was in seriously in danger of not just losing her job, but maybe her heart.

I like all the characters in this story.  Especially Hallie's 2 assistants.  They make this movie bearable.  Hilarious and charming.  I wish I worked with people like them.  Christina Cox, I liked as well.  Her acting was decent and I like the slow change of her personality due to the influence of Eddie.  It takes a lot of work to change yourself and Hallie pulled it off nicely.  She really made me like her a lot.  I guess the only person I didn't like too much was Dean Cain.  I hate to say it, but he felt kind of false in this movie.  First, his beard.  It looked pasted on fuzz.  My friend and I thought it kind of gross.  Second, his New York accent.  I think he overdid it.  His character did show vast amount of improvement.  But there wasn't really anything for me to see when they fell in love in a month.  It felt she was more in lust with him than love.  For a successful businesswoman to fall in love with a man who was recently living in the streets, seems a little out there.  It's possible over time, but a month felt too force in this case.  The plot was pretty predictable.  Misunderstanding and trust issues were the general contention between the two.

Is it worth the $15 price tag?  No.  The movie was only okay and there weren't many extras on this DVD.  I bought it at Amazon for $7.50.  So, I didn't feel too bad buying and selling it.  If you are really need a movie to watch on a rainy day, it's not a bad choice if you don't have other options.  I think this movie could have been better with a stronger lead male.  Sorry.  I love him as Superman though.
