Title: Sincerely, Violet
Media:VHS
Publisher: Shades of Love/KLV-TV
Genre: Romance/Drama
Length: 80 minutes
My Rating: 2 out of 5 stars
I like to say I'm a huge fan of Harlequin books and a couple of their movies. So, when I discovered Shades of Love, who produced movies similar to Harlequin, I couldn't wait to watch them. This was my first foray into this line and I was greatly disappointed. The main problem was the absurd storyline. It reminded me of Superman. No one could recognize Clark Kent as Superman because he wore glasses. This has the same premise. When Elizabeth was Violet, she changed her hairstyle, wore makeup and did not wear her glasses. But our hero, Mark, did not recognize the similar features between the 2 women. It really irked me. Even near the end when she did remove her glasses, he still didn't get it. Another problem was their relationship. I couldn't understand when they actually fallen in love with each other. There was too many plot holes to make the story flow smoothly. There was potential but was never attained. Other than that, the acting and the characters were decent. There was 1 sex scene near the end, but it wasn't anything R rated. It only showed Mark and Elizabeth leading up to it.
I can't really recommend this. This movie was a trial and took me a year to get through. It took 3 attempts to finally see this movie through to the end. If you are adding this to your Shades of Love collection, you should get it. But it is not worth your time and effort to watch.
