My Playtime: 70+ hours
Genre: Simulation
My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
I'll be brutally honest. I would never in a million years buy this type of game. I'm your typical RPG/Action/Platformer/Puzzle gamer. And fashion - forget about it. However, after a year of indecisiveness and the raving reviews, why not? And . . . this is crazy addictive. The moment the game was placed in my hands, I have been at it non-stop, even at the expense of my current games. I'm even guilty of sneaking a few minutes at work. Be warned. Style Savvy: Trendsetters definitely lived up to the hype.
You've been given a one-in-a-lifetime chance to manage and own a high-end boutique. Will you have what it takes to become the hottest fashionista in the world?
Before being given full control of the boutique, you will be given instructions on how to use the search functions, on buying stock, how to respond to customers' demands, designing the shops and so on. Don't worry, once you get the hang of it, it'll become second nature and super fun. The hardest part of the game would be two things. One being trying to figure which style the customer likes and making sure you are not selling them an item they already own. The second would be the international contest. I never knew how hard it is to design the perfect outfit. There wasn't a learning curve. The game was set up to be very user friendly. I found it was fun design clothes the way you would if you have unlimited cash. You can't go wrong. Everything looked good together. I guess it helped that all the characters are all good-looking, wealthy, svelte, tall people.
The graphics were amazing. Considering all the elements, like the different hairstyles, clothing, makeup, the store design and the huge array of characters, I was in awe how everything was seamless. There was barely any lag time. I would say the only loading time was when you actually turned on the game and connecting to the internet. There is no voice acting. Reading comprehension is a major must. There is generic BGM. My only con to plot was that, after a point, the scenes will be recycled ad nauseaum. So, those can be a bit boring to see over and over again. I usually skipped over them. What I would love to see in a future a possible love interest for the heroine and more variety for the guys' clothes.
A rare for me to say that I recommend this game to everyone. I had 2 female non-gamers and 1 guy played the game and all proclaimed that it was oddly addictive. They didn't want to the give my game back. XD Also, this was a great game to play when you are waiting. It doesn't require much thought and having the ability to save whenever made it convenient. Well, for whatever reason, I love this game. Even after getting this game over a month again (spending about 100+ hours), I'm still not tired of it. And added bonus to me, I have become more stylish in real life. It's weird to say, but I got more compliments now than ever before. >_<
