My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Like the Drummond’s family motto, gang warily, readers. It may appear to be a romance, but it reads
like a fiction with romance added as an afterthought. But don’t let me turn you off yet. This will be a hit or a miss with
people. So, please read on to see if this
book is right for you.
Do you like wordiness?
The first thing you will notice that this is very wordy. Paragraphs upon paragraphs of the splendors
of New Zealand. So many descriptives and
adjectives. Because of this, romance was
kind of loss in all the verbiage. Also, you will get 3-4 lengthy letters. It’s like the characters are writing short
stories themselves. I thought I was the only one
who wrote like that. So, if you like
reading about scenery and back history, this might be something for you. For extra enjoyment, the font is tiny as can
be.
Do you like perfect people and no drama? The first thing that will capture your
attention is the perfect, nicest young heroine.
Even her enemies love her. And
she loves her enemies. There is
absolutely no real drama. Anna is sweet,
works hard, gets dirty and looks beautiful doing it. Everyone told her what a blessing that she
shown up when she did. Really. At least 5 times. Even when she found that Calum has a fiancée,
Anna was the better person and did not want break them up. She was content to step aside as the love of
her life (she knew he loved her too) marries another woman. Who does that?
Don’t need romance in a romance? Despite their unsavory first impression and
time together, Anna suddenly had an epiphany of her love for Calum. But this romance does not bloom until page
160. So, it will be a long wait that
lasts for a short span of 20 pages.
Note: This is a clean romance.
If you said yes to everything, this book is for you. If not,
pass this book by. It can be a bit
tedious but it was simple with nice characters and no drama.
So, that’s why I have it at 4 stars.
It was a decent, pleasant story that is well written. Will I read it again? Nope.
