Romance novels are always taken with a grain salt.  However, Daddy and Daughters pushed my imagination too far.

Jared Hunter just found out he has twin daughters.  Help!  Help came in the form of Cassandra Bowles, one of Jared's employee.  Cassandra taught Jared how to raise his children while helplessly falling in love with her taciturn boss.  Jared knew Cassandra would be the perfect  mother to raise his daughters.  All he had to do was convince her.

My one big, humongous gripe with this story was Jared Hunter and how he handled the situation he found himself.  It was reasonable to have not known that his estranged wife had his children.  It was awesome that he abstained from any other relationships while he was legally married and he have not seen her in 3 years!  What was wrong was from the moment of knowing his wife's death and as soon as Jared he knew had children to take care of (around page 16), he started noticing the heroine and wanted to take her to bed.  And no one else had the same effect on him as Cassandra did.  Come on.  From the start, the author tried to make Jared to be a moralistic hero, but completely dropped the ball and instead, made him into a sex-deprived hero who wanted to use the heroine to take care of his children.  Personally, he had some good points: great businessman, a natural father and good grandson.  But this hero did not do it for me.

Cassandra Bowles was an improvement but still had her issues.  For 2 years, she worked for Jared and always looked up to him as an inspiring businessman.  However, as soon as Jared's wife's death was known, Cassie immediately noticed him as man.  Hungry much?  I admired her tenacity to succeed as a marketing analyst.  However, she was weak emotionally and easy pickings for Jared.  Their courtship was whirlwind due to circumstances, but to force a chemistry just to make the two compatible just didn't jibe.  The ending was wrapped up too quickly.  How they fell in love is such a mystery to me . . .

The bright spot was the twins.  If you aren't normally a fan of children, you will fall in love with these two.  They were so sweet and adorable but you can't help falling in love.  The writing was okay and reading was slow since not much was going on.  I flip-flopped between a 2 or 3 stars.  So, I safely went halfsies.  There wasn't much to recommend besides the twins.  A lot of suppressed passion.  One behind-door love scene.  Not much humor.  Hero and heroine were plum annoying.  So, no, I would not suggest this book.
