My Playtime: 5 hours
Genre: Puzzle
My Rating: 2 out of 5 stars
Despite being for the 3DS, there is no 3D compatibility. Which was perfectly fine, since I never used the feature in any case. The graphics are sub-par for a 3DS game. The background was not sharp and can get pixelated if you move too quickly through each scene. And some areas were just plain pixelated.
The main screen was the upper one. The bottom one was for writing down notes, camera, magnifying glass and saving/loading. The camera was annoying and didn't take the right pictures all the time. And it can only hold one picture at a time. The notes section was laughable. The typewriter was miniscule. It was so tiny. Finally, the magnifying feature is a laugh. It is like you have tiny picture and blowing it up, making the words and pictures pixelated. I don't even bother with this feature. I can barely read the words, let alone figure out the clues and history. Personally for me, the navigation in this game is not an easy thing. The rotational pad moved the hand on the screen. The direction that the hand is pointing is not always the direction you think you are aiming for. Most times, I'm going to circles trying to get to the next room. Also, this is BS. I just saved the game and guess what? It wasn't saved when I loaded it up. The file disappeared. There is no way I'm going to play this game again. It has officially turned me off.
I so regret this purchase. I should've waited for the reviews. This is not a game for a beginner. I love puzzle games and RPGs. So I'm not a novice gamer. However, this game does not give any directions of where to go or what to do. If I didn't have guide, I would be completely stumped of what to do next. So, in the end, I would have to pass on this one. I really wanted to like it but this remake was a dud. Pass this game by.
