What would happen if you asked Santa for a husband? You might just get one. As a joke Abbie Canfield wrote a letter to Santa on Christmas Eve, asking for a husband under her tree. When she woke up, there was a man, a very sexy one, underneath her tree! With amnesia, Abbie felt compel to help him but her stranger was the one helping her, reminding her, it was nice not to be alone. But it wouldn't be long before he regained his memories and would he leave with her heart?
I love a good, simple, wholesome holiday romance and 'Santa Maybe' was definitely what I was looking for. The plot was definitely outside the realm of possibility but I love the 'what if' scenario. How many women have not dreamed of finding the perfect man under their tree? Aubrey Mace created a pretty funny and cute read. The story was uncomplicated and pretty straightforward. Reading was a breeze since the book was pretty light fare. But the highlight of this book was the mystery hero: Ben. I won't expose the details of the plot line, but Ben was everything a woman would want. He was generous, practical, fun loving and handsome. I liked Abbie as well and understood some of her insecurities but I did find her need to cling to her failing love life as a little annoying at times. Luckily, there weren't many moments like those. The side characters were charming and added to the holiday romance between the two.
I would highly recommend this book. Even though this is LDS novel, I believe Christian romance readers would enjoy this book as well. If you are looking for passion and lots of drama, skip this book. This is a clean, sweet read that is perfect for the holidays and even this warm April. The only reason I gave this book a 4 stars was because I would probably not read it again but I still enjoyed the chance of reading it.
